My Dashboard

When a user logs-in, any service in which he has some level of involvement is tagged as a "Job" and maintained by My Dashboard until closed. Jobs are subdivided into "Wait, On-Time, Over Due and Due Today depending on their status. In addition to Jobs, Work Items can also be attached to your Dashboard for setting reminders and tracking progress on specific tasks. Work Items can be assigned to one self or delegated by a manager.

Work Items

Work Items are "To-Do" lists a user can use to create notes and reminders that may or may not be related to a Job. They can be assigned by a Manager to a user or they can be assigned by a user to himself. Work Items can be closed by either a Manager or user, but only a Manager can re-open a Work Item.

To assign a Work Item to yourself, select "Add My Work Item" from the "Actions" menu. To delegate a Work Item (Managers only), choose "Delegate Work Item" from the "Utilities" menu.

*Note: if you're on a network (Enterprise version), selecting "Refresh Work Items" will retrieve any new Work Items added by a Manager on the network while you were working.

Jobs

Jobs are any Service Requests, Purchase Orders, Estimates, Estimate Follow-ups and Come-backs in which the user has some level of involvement (Service Writer, Parts Clerk, Mechanic, Manager). Current Jobs are persisted on the dashboard until closed. If a service is re-opened, Jobs are reassigned to the dashboard.

* Note: if you're on a network (Enterprise version), selecting "Refresh Jobs" will retrieve any new Jobs added by someone else on the network and assigned to you while you were working.
